July 3, 2013::pet a goat

Sometimes, when things get too much to take, it is nice to drop what we are doing and go pet a goat...or llama...or camel.

 

The boys and I took a break from packing and sorting and hauling last week to visit the petting zoo sponsored by the public library. It was a mini-zoo, and only took about ten minutes to get the full experience, but it was a nice break for us.

 

The owners are fellow homeschoolers. They treat these animals like family. My kids are a little jealous of the cool pets these boys have!

July 1, 2013::our hangout

One of the best parts of our home in Georgetown is the front porch.

Though we are working hard to get the house packed, Todd and I are finding time to sit together in our  favorite spot. A salad hastily thrown together at lunch so we have more time together on the porch. A cold glass of tea after hours in the hot attic. A long conversation with a dear friend watching the rain fall just feet away. Watching the hummingbird at the bee balm. This is our vacation spot this year and it's a happy place. 

We intentionally looked for a place in Kokomo with outdoor living space. We are looking forward to that new hangout, but will miss this one. It is full of nice memories.
