Now, though, I see hats, scarves, socks, mittens...I am overwhelmed with list of things I want to make.
I, too, am overwhelmed with the growth of the stash of yarn I have tucked away, and the growing number of needles and paraphernalia I need. Every time I start something new, I need a new needle size. What started out, three months ago, as a ball of yarn and single pair of needles has multiplied again and again.
Recently, I came across a deal I couldn't refuse. Fourteen sets of double pointed needles, in fourteen different sizes, for the price I would pay for three sets at the yarn store. Yes, I am aware that this is a rationalization, but I ordered them.
This is how they came...
Can you imagine? I keep all of my needles and notions in one large bag. My knitting teacher asked me if I had a kid in there when she saw the mess. Was I really going to add seventy new needles to the mix?
So, I came up with a little solution. I few nights of garter stitch. An opportunity to practice yarn changes, and felting...and ta da!
A chance to use an embroidered pin I made years ago, and I have a little rough hewn organization.
At least when this obsession turns into something new, I will be able to pass along my needles in a neat little package.
